Have you ever been stopped at an intersection when the light turns green and hesitated before stepping on the gas...just as a pair of cars go speeding through? And if you'd gone ahead, you'd have been hit. Well, those are the Lord's angels protecting you, believe it or not. God's angels are servants, messengers, and warriors, protecting the Lord's people. The word "angel" comes from the Greek word "angelos", meaning messenger. Angels are spiritual beings. They are not made up of flesh and bone, but they can come down in the form of a man. Gen. 19
There is an invisible realm of life. God's secret agents: angels. I decided to do a program on angels because they do exist, according to the Bible.
I ask every day for God to put the angels on assigment over my family. I believe, I believe... Gen. 32:1 "So Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him. And when Jacob saw them, he said, 'This is God's camp.' And he called the name of that place Mahanaim." The Hebrew word meaning "two camps". The hosts of heaven came down and met Jacob to assure him of the divine protection that God had promised him when entering the promised land. The Bible shows us this journey because God has made promise after promise that we can make it to the promised land and have victory in our lives. Hallelujah!!
Angels are used in the Bible to carry out the will of God. They are holy, mighty in stature, and wise. They take their orders from the sovereign God. In v. 16 of Collossians 1, the epistle that was written by Paul the Apostle goes like this: "For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him." There are three kinds of angels: The archangels, cherubims, and seraphim. The seraphim stand very tall, having six wings. Two that cover his face, two that cover his feet, and two that he can fly with. Seraph, in translation, means "fiery ones", and is often mentioned with the Presence of God. (Ezek. 1:27) And then, God mentions the cherubims in Gen 3:24: "So he drove out the man, and he placed at the east of the Garden of Eden the cherubim and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life." That cherubim was placed by God to protect the way of the tree of life and that still remains today. The word of God is the same yesterday, today, and in the future tomorrow. He says He will never leave us or forsake us and we have the Holy Spirit that Christ left here on this earth, His very presence, and the presence of the holy angels. I know there are some of you that know what I am talking about. I do, from time to time, feel His Presence, and I am aware that the angels are around me.
